レオモード began as an alias for Leonardo’s electronic dance music projects and live performances alongside DJs, exploring hybrid performances that merged techno and house beats with improvisation. Over time, it simply evolved into the identity for the “beats” side of his personal productions, culminating in the release of a series of lo-fi-inspired tracks.
Leomode reflects Leonardo’s passion for crafting intricate beats, blending chopped samples, jazzy harmonies, and live piano improvisations. The project combines the lofi aesthetic with sophisticated sound design, offering a distinctive take on instrumental hip hop. Key influences for the project include Elaquent, Kaytranada, and the legendary J Dilla.
Leomode has collaborated with a variety of talented artists, including Jurandir Santana on guitar, Rickard Slotte on trumpet, Federico Carreras on saxophone, and vocalists such as Alan Da Silva, Sara Pi, Munn, Siwo, Monica Mussungo, Hannah Montenegro, and Aitana Lopez, whose contributions have added richness and diversity to the project’s sound.
